REISTERTOWN, Md.— Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) scored twice as Buffalo State erased an early deficit to run away with a 6-3 victory over host Stevenson in a non-conference matchup this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Krantz scored her second and third goals of the season to lead the Bengals.
Emma Ruggiero (Amherst, NY/Sacred Heart) added a goal and an assist, while Natasha Steinle (Morrison, CO/CIHA), Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/AZ Virtual Academy), Caitie Horvatits (Elma, NY/Iroquois) also scored for Buffalo State.
Cheyenne Matson (Wasilla, AK/Matsu Career & Tech) chipped in a pair of assists.
The Mustangs opened the scoring just 1:36 into the contest, but the Bengals roared back with four unanswered goals, including three to close the first period. Steinle and Krantz struck first, and then Ruggiero netted her fifth of the season shorthanded.
Carroll pushed the lead to 4-1 early in the middle frame, but Stevenson cut the deficit to one with a pair of power-play goals just over three minutes apart.
Buffalo State regained its composure from there, and Horvatits scored late in the second to give the Bengals a two-goal lead entering the final 20 minutes.
Buffalo State controlled play in the third period, outshooting the Mustangs, 10-2, and Krantz completed the scoring with her second of the game midway through the stanza.
Bri Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Mt. Mercy) started in goal and finished with 13 saves on 16 shots before Anna Quattro (Williamsville, NY/PEAC) saw her first action as a Bengal, turning aside all eight shots she faced.
Buffalo State finished with a 40-24 advantage in shots. Stevenson was 2 of 7 on the power play, and the Bengals were 0 for 4, but did tally a shorthanded goal.
FOR THE FOES
Chelsea Blackburn, Cierra Siemasko and Kellen Wittman all scored for Stevenson.
