William Smith College senior forward Krista Federow (Niagara Falls, Ontario/Kent) was named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week late yesterday. She was also named the United Collegiate Hockey Conference Offensive Player of the Week yesterday.

Federow had a major hand in leading William Smith to a sweep of Manhattanville at The Cooler this past weekend. She factored into three of the Herons four goals as William Smith notched a pair of 2-1 wins over the Valiants. On Sunday, Federow scored two, third period goals as the Herons rallied past Manhattanville. It was the seventh time in her career that she scored two goals in a game. Federow’s second goal was her UCHC leading fifth game-winning goal of the season, nationally, only Plattsburgh’s Courtney Moriarty has more game-winning goals this season (9). Federow set up junior Maura Mulligan’s overtime game-winning goal on Saturday for her 17th assist of the season. Federow is 10th in the nation in assists per game (0.85 apg).

Federow has played in all 95 of William Smith’s varsity games. She holds the program records for goals (38), assists (45), and points (83).

This is the fourth time this season that a Heron has been placed on the D3hockey.com Team of the Week. First-years Lexi Nottke and Emily Martino and sophomore Gina Scibetta earned Team of the Week honors in November.
