POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey player Alexa Pfeiffer (Sylvania, Ohio/Little Caesar’s) has been named the Northeast Women’s Hockey League’s Goalie of the Week.
Pfeiffer stopped a season-high 40 saves in a 3-1 victory over Oswego State on Friday. This season, the sophomore is 5-5 with a .931 save percentage and a 2.10 goals-against-average. Pfeiffer now has 13 career victories, tying her for fourth on the program’s all-time wins list with Abby Tardelli ’16.
The Bears (12-11-2) are back in action on Saturday, when they head to No. 1 Plattsburgh (21-2-2) for a NEWHL semifinal matchup at 3 p.m.
