2018 Chipotle-USA Hockey National Championships | Final Results
Youth Tier I 14U National Championship Game:
Detroit Compuware (Mich.) 3, Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (Pa.) 0, in Charlotte, N.C.
Note: First Tier I 14U title for Compuware since 2009; sixth overall Tier I title at that age classification for Compuware.
Youth Tier I 15-Only National Championship Game:
Buffalo Junior Sabres (N.Y.) 2, Detroit Little Caesars (Mich.) 1, in Plymouth, Mich.
Note: First national championship for a Buffalo-area team since 2004, when the Buffalo Saints won the Youth Tier I 16U title.
Youth Tier I 16U National Championship Game:
Chicago Mission (Ill.) 3, Team Wisconsin 1, in West Chester, Pa.
Note: Chicago Mission won this title with many of the same players and the same head coach that won the 2017 Tier I 14U title.
Youth Tier I 18U National Championship Game:
CCYHA (Conn.) 5, Cape Cod Whalers (Mass.) 2, in West Chester, Pa.
Note: 2018 is the second consecutive season that a Connecticut-based team won a Youth Tier I national championship. The Yale Junior Bulldogs won the Tier I 15-Only title in 2017 and the Mid Fairfield Chiefs won the Tier I 18U title in 2017.
Girls Tier I 14U National Championship Game:
Minnesota Green Giants 3, Assabet Valley (Mass.) 0, in Marlborough, Mass.
Note: The Green Giants became the first-ever national champion from Minnesota’s High Performance Tier I Leagues. The Minnesota victory also snapped a streak of four consecutive Girls Tier I 14U national championships for Massachusetts-based clubs.
Girls Tier I 16U National Championship Game:
Chicago Mission (Ill.) 2, Selects Academy at BK (N.Y.) 1, in Marlborough, Mass.
Note: This was the first-ever Girls Tier I 16U national championship for Chicago Mission.
Girls Tier I 19U National Championship Game:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s (Minn.) 5, Detroit Belle Tire (Mich.) 1, in Marlborough, Mass.
Note: The win gave Shattuck-St. Mary’s School its third consecutive Girls Tier I 19U national championship and eighth overall.
Youth Tier II 14U 1A National Championship Game:
Atlanta Fire Elite (Ga.) 6, Idaho Junior Steelheads 5, in Amherst, N.Y.
Note: The Fire Elite win gave the state of Georgia two USA Hockey national championships in 2018.
Youth Tier II 14U 2A National Championship Game:
Maine Moose 4, Gulf Coast Flames (Fla.) 0, in Amherst, N.Y.
Note: Second conseuctive season with a national championship for the Maine Moose program. The Moose won a Youth Tier II 18U 2A title in 2017.
Youth Tier II 14U 3A National Championship Game:
South Hills Panthers (Pa.) 1, Skaneateles Youth Hockey (N.Y.) 0 (OT), in Amherst, N.Y.
Note: The Panthers victory marked the only overtime decision in a national championship game this year.
Youth Tier II 16U 1A National Championship Game:
Team South Dakota 8, Park City Ice Miners (Utah) 1, in Wayne, N.J.
Note: Second Youth Tier II 16U 1A national championship in four seasons for Team South Dakota (the previous championship came in 2015).
Youth Tier II 16U 2A National Championship Game:
Atlanta Phoenix (Ga.) 9, Atlanta Fire (Ga.) 3, in Wayne, N.J.
Note: This was the first time ever that two Georgia teams met in a national championship game.
Youth Tier II 16U 3A National Championship Game:
Massena/St. Lawrence Thunder (N.Y.) 4, Southern Connecticut Stars 1, in Wayne, N.J.
Note: First national championship at this classification for Massena/St. Lawrence. They finished second to Oakland, Mich., in 2014.
Youth Tier II 18U 1A National Championship Game:
Delaware Ducks 7, Boise Junior Steelheads (Idaho) 6, in Ashwaubenon, Wis.
Note: Delaware rallied from a 5-1 deficit to win.
Youth Tier II 18U 2A National Championship Game:
Maine Moose 4, Ashburn Xtreme (Va.) 2, in Ashwaubenon, Wis.
Note: Back-to-back Youth Tier II 18U 2A national championships for the Maine Moose. They topped the New Hampshire Avalanche for the title in 2017.
Youth Tier II 18U 3A National Championship Game:
Team Copper Country (Mich.) 5, Wonderland Wizards (Conn.) 1, in Ashwaubenon, Wis.
Note: Back-to-back Youth Tier II 18U 3A national championships for Team Copper Country. They defeated the Clarence (N.Y.) Mustangs for the title in 2017.
Girls Tier II 14U National Championship Game:
North Shore Vipers (Mass.) 4, East Coast Wizards (Mass.) 2, in Marlborough, Mass.
Note: New England-based teams have won the last five Girls Tier II 14U national championships.
Girls Tier II 16U National Championship Game:
Shoreline Sharks (Conn.) 1, Vermont Shamrocks 0, in Marlborough, Mass.
Note: The Shoreline Sharks won the Girls Tier II 14U national title in 2017.
Girls Tier II 19U National Championship Game:
East Coast Wizards (Mass.) 3, San Jose Junior Sharks (Calif.) 1, in Marlborough, Mass.
Note: The East Coast Wizards hosted the 2018 USA Hockey Girls Tier I and Tier II National Championship Tournament.
