HERNING, Denmark – Will Butcher (Sun Prairie, Wis.) collected a goal and two assists as the 2018 U.S. Men’s National Team earned a 3-2 victory over Denmark here tonight at the KVIK Hockey Arena. The game was Team USA’s lone exhibition game ahead of the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship that begins Friday (May 4).

“This was a good team win in a fun atmosphere,” said Jeff Blashill, head coach of the 2018 U.S. Men’s National Team. “We were able to play different line combinations and evaluate some of our special teams play, which was great. What’s important going forward is that we continue to build our game as we get set for the tournament to begin Friday.”

The United States opens tournament play Friday (May 4) when it faces Canada at 4:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET). That contest, along with every U.S. tournament game, will be televised live on NHL Network.
