Syracuse Ranked Third In CHA Preseason Coaches Poll

Mercyhurst has been selected to finish as champions of College Hockey America according to the 2018-19 Preseason Coaches Poll released Wednesday. The Lakers received 5 of the 6 first place votes while Robert Morris garnered the other.

Robert Morris has won each of the last two CHA regular season championships while Mercyhurst outright won or tied for the regular season title every year prior.

Penn State was picked to finish everywhere from second in the conference to last by the coaches, finishing 4th in the voting behind 3rd place Syracuse. Lindenwood and RIT were picked 5th and 6th respectively.

The final results are:

1. Mercyhurst – 25 points (5 first place votes)
2. Robert Morris – 19 points (1 first place vote)
3. Syracuse – 17 points
4. Penn State – 14 points
5. Lindenwood – 10 points
6. RIT – 5 points

The 2018-19 CHA season begins Saturday, September 22 with preseason home games for Penn State, Mercyhurst, and Robert Morris, as well as for RIT on Sunday.
