BOSTON, Mass. – Riding a seven-game scoring streak, Alex Wilkinson of the Army West Point hockey team was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Month, announced by the league on Thursday.
Alex Wilkinson has arguably been Army’s best player through the first month of the season as the Black Knights have jumped out to an early lead in the Atlantic Hockey standings.
The Raleigh, N.C., native is tied for the team lead and conference lead in points (9) and assists (7) while also scoring two goals on just six shots. Wilkinson is playing in all situations, including leading a penalty-kill unit that is third in the league at 86.5 percent. Wilkinson also has 16 blocks in seven games, including back-to-back games with four blocks, both wins for Army, to close out the month.
