College Hockey America has announced the most recent weekly award winners.
Player of the Week
Brittney Gout – RIT
Sophomore, Forward – Caledon, ONT/Brampton Canadettes
Gout tallied four points on a goal and three assists in a 1-0-1 weekend at Dartmouth. She had a goal, which went as the game-winner, and an assist in Friday’s 5-1 win, then assisted on both RIT goals in Saturday’s 2-2 tie. Gout finished the weekend plus-3 and added a block in the tie.
Goalie of the Week
Terra Lanteigne – RIT
Junior, Goalie – Hatchet Lake, NS/Metro Boston Pizza
Terra Lanteigne had another strong weekend for RIT, totaling 89 saves as the Tigers had a 1-0-1 showing at Dartmouth. She allowed three goals in the two games, registering a goals against average of 1.44 and a save percentage of 0.967. Lanteigne had 41 saves in the 5-1 win and 48 saves in the 2-2 tie, her second and third 40-plus save efforts on the year.
Rookie of the Week
Arielle DeSmet – Robert Morris
Freshman, Goalie – Charlotte, VT/North American Hockey Academy
Arielle DeSmet played just over 83 minutes for Robert Morris as the Colonials went 0-1-1 against #10 Colgate. She came on in relief for Lauren Bailey at the beginning of the third period of Friday’s game, stopping all five shots faced. DeSmet got the start on Saturday, allowing two goals on 29 shots in the draw.
