OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team tied 1-1 with conference competitor Cortland in their first home game of the season on Friday evening. Sophomore Emma Morisette had the Lakers’ lone goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite the Red Dragons making the board first, Oswego was quick to tie it up as Morisette was able to find the back of the net.
Morisette’s tally came with 6:12 remaining in the second period and was assisted by Katelynn Ferguson.
Ferguson now has four points this season, on two goals and two assists.
Goaltender Rachael Farmer forced an overtime period as she made a clutch goal line save with 28.7 seconds remaining in regulation.
Despite several strong Laker shots in the overtime period, Cortland goalie Victoria Gibson stood tall.
Philomena Teggart looked to seal the deal with 21 seconds remaining in the contest on a wraparound shot, but Gibson was able to make the save with help from her left post.
Farmer again made a spectacular effort to force a Cortland attacker wide on a one-on-one break away with seven seconds remaining in the overtime period.
The Grand Island, N.Y. native made a total of 21 saves for the Lakers.
Oswego held a 31-23 advantage in faceoffs.
