BPOTSDAM, N.Y.-SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey player Jack Bloem(Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Connecticut Rangers) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Rookie of the Week.
Bloem had four goals in two games last weekend. He scored one against No. 3 Oswego State on Friday. On Saturday, he recorded his first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, to help the Bears for a come-from-behind 5-2 victory in the season finale against Cortland. Bloem completed his freshman season ranked fourth on the team in scoring with nine goals and seven assists for 16 points.
Bloem’s father, Dieter, also played for the Bears from 1989-92. He scored 12 goals and assisted on 16 others for 28 points in 61 games.
