Cortland sophomore Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesars) has been named the Northeast Women’s Hockey League’s (NEWHL) Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 17.
Schnorr broke the program single-season goal record as she helped lead Cortland to a 3-0 week with seven points on three goals and four assists.
Schnorr opened the week with an assist on Cortland’s second goal in a 2-0 win at Oswego on Wednesday, Feb. 13. She then tallied three points on two goals, including the game-winner early in the first period, and an assist in a 5-0 home victory versus Lebanon Valley on Saturday, Feb. 16. Schnorr finished off her week with her record-breaking 15th goal of the season, another game-winning score, and two assists as the Red Dragons skated to another 5-0 win versus Lebanon Valley on Sunday, Feb. 17.
For the season, Schnorr leads Cortland with 24 points on 15 goals and nine assists. The 24 points are the third most in a single season in Red Dragon history since the program was re-established in 2000-01.
