Women’s Ice Hockey to Open 2019-20 Campaign Ranked Fourth in USCHO Preseason Poll
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Elmira College women’s ice hockey will open the 2019-20 season as one of the nation’s top teams, as indicated by this afternoon’s U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Preseason Poll. The Soaring Eagles will begin the year as the country’s fourth-ranked team according to the national poll, making EC the only United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) affiliate to crack the top-10.
The Purple and Gold are coming off of a strong season in 2018-19, one that saw the Elmira women capture their second consecutive UCHC regular season and tournament titles on the back of a 24-3-1 overall record. EC also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships for a seventh consecutive season.
