5 Freshman and 2 Grad Transfers highlight the incoming class
The Clarkson Men’s Hockey team will enter it’s 100th season with a strong mix of newcomers wearing the Green & Gold. The incoming group is highlighted by two graduate transfers and a freshman class that features a 3rd round NHL Draft Pick from this summer. With the graduation of Connor McCarthy, JC Maclean, Grant Cooper, & Kris Oldham and the pro signing of Josh Dunne, this group of 1 goalie, 2 defenseman, and 4 forwards will plug in some big holes right from the start.
#2 Lukas Kaelble
Lukas is a graduate transfer defenseman from Lake Superior State University where he played in 131 games over 4 seasons, accumulating 7 goals and 50 assists for 57 career points, along with 60 penalty minutes and a +12 rating. Kaelble (cal-blay) can defend and help on the power play, filling in right where Connor McCarthy left off.
Coach Casey Jones on Kaelble: “We are excited about adding the experience and leadership that Lukas will bring to our team. He is extremely difficult to play against and will be able to play in all situations for us.”
The 6’2″ 205lb left-shot blueliner is from Mannheim, Germany will enter the Masters of Business Administration Program at the Reh School of Business. Before College, Lukas played for the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League. Played two seasons (2014-15 and 2015-16) for the Jungadler Mannheim U19 team of the German Development League (DNL). Member of the German National Under 16 and Under 20 teams and played in the World Junior Hockey Championships U17, U18, and U20 Tournaments.
#12 Caden Lewandowski
Caden is a 6’4 defenseman from Mars, PA. Last season he played for the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL, where he had 5 goals and 5 assists in 45 games played. He is a right shot and will start as Business Studies in the Reh School of Business. Caden was previously committed to Robert Morris University before the announcement by the school to dissolve hockey. Lewandowski’s stepfather is former Golden Knight, Trevor Edwards ’04.
Coach Jones on Lewandowski: “Caden is a defenseman with good size that skates well. His style fits our program well and we have great success developing and winning with defenseman like Caden.”

#15 Ayrton Martino
Ayrton (Air tin) is a dynamic 5′ 11″ left shot forward that was selected in the 3rd round in this summer’s NHL Entry Draft, by the Dallas Stars. Martino played last season for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL where he had 18 goals, 38 assists for 56 points in 38 games. He was named to the USHL All Rookie team along with USHL 2nd Team All Star. Martino is a native of Toronto and will be starting in the Business Studies program in the Reh School of Business.
Coach Jones on Martino: “Ayrton has extremely high hockey IQ, explosive skater and has dynamic offensive qualities . He is coming in with a ton of confidence after producing at an extremely high level in the USHL last year.”
#21 George Grannis
Grannis (Gran – us) is a right shot forward from Duluth, MN who played for the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL) where he scored 19 goals and 19 assist for 38 points in 48 games. The 6′, 195lb freshman will major Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Hockey runs in the family for George, his dad played hockey for the University of Minnesota and was drafted by the LA Kings, while his grandfather played hockey and was named captain at Harvard. Grannis’s grandfather on his mother’s side attended Clarkson, Revis Stephenson, which the Stephenson Field House is named in honor of.
Coach Jones on Grannis: “George is coming in after having his best year of junior hockey. He has good skill and will add depth to our extremely competitive forward group.”
#26 Ryan Richardson
Richardson is a big 6’1″ left shot forward from Stittsville, Ontario. He played last season for the Fargo Force of the USHL where he collected 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points along with 56 pims in 51 games. Ryan will start in Business Studies in the Reh School of Business.
Coach Jones on Richardson: “Ryan is an extremely competitive, smart hockey player. He is extremely difficult to play against and has a knack for taking pucks to the net hard.”

#34 Brady Parker
A goaltender originally from Scottsdale, AZ. now living in Calgary, Alberta, Brady played for the Okotoks Oilers (AJHL) last three seasons where he had a 2.56 GAA and an .896% in 92 games with 65 wins, including 4 shutouts. Parker was named the 2020-21 AJHL Top Goaltender Award winner and was names to the 2020-21 AJHL All-Academic Team. Parker, who catches left, will start in Business Studies in the Reh School of Business.
Coach Jones on Parker: “Brady will add depth to our goaltending position. He won a lot of games in junior and is extremely competitive .”

#39 Luke Santerno
The 6’3″ 200lb graduate transfer forward from Bentley University played in 123 games over 4 seasons notching 34 goal and 71 assists for 105 points. Santerno is a native of Smithers, BC and will enroll in the Reh School of Business Masters of Business Administration program. Santerno should be a good fit to help replace the loss of Josh Dunne up front.
Coach Jones on Santerno: “Luke is a big center that has produced at a high level in college already. He will give us a shooting mentality and size down the middle.”
