USCHO.com Division III Women’s Poll
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Plattsburgh State women’s ice hockey team garnered all 15-first place votes and 150 voting points to claim the No. 1 ranking for the 21st consecutive USCHO.com Division III Top-10 Poll.
Plattsburgh State continues the 2021-22 regular season with a non-conference game against No. 7 Norwich University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, inside the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
The Cardinals retained their No. 1 ranking after trouncing SUNY Cortland, 5-1, in their season-opening game on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. Plattsburgh State opened up a 5-0 lead through two periods of play with the help of a hat trick by graduate-student forward Annie Katonka, before Cortland scored a goal in the third period to make the final score, 5-1. The Cardinals, who hold a 48-0-0 record all-time against Cortland, extended their NCAA Division III record home-winning streak to 41 games.
