BUFFALO, NY — The Calgary Flames exploded for four goals in the 2nd period Thursday night on their way to a 5-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center.
Johnny Gaudreau and Andrew Mangiapane each scored two goals to lead the Flames. Matthew Tkachuk added a single goal for the winners.
Jacob Markstrom recorded the shutout for the Flames, turning aside all 27 shots the Sabres fired at him.
Calgary outshot Buffalo for the game, 33-27.
Dustin Torkarski started the game in goal for the Sabres but was pulled after the second period. Aaron Dell finished the game in net for Buffalo.
