RPi Men’s Hockey Skates Past LIU, 7-2
TROY, N.Y. – Six different players recorded multiple points, including the first two collegiate goals from sophomore John Beaton, which paced the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men’s hockey team to a 7-2 victory over Long Island University, on Friday night at the Houston Field House. With the win, the Engineers improve to 6-5-1 overall, while the Sharks drop to 2-7-2.
Plattsburgh State Men’s Ice Hockey Uses Four Unanswered Goals to Top Buffalo State, 5-1
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Plattsburgh State men’s ice hockey scored four unanswered goals to break a 1-1 tie and pull away from Buffalo State for a 5-1 victory on Friday night at Buffalo State Ice Arena.
Plattsburgh State (3-3-1, 2-2-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference [SUNYAC]) plays a SUNYAC game at Fredonia Saturday at 7 p.m. Buffalo State (2-4-0, 1-1-0) hosts SUNY Potsdam for a SUNYAC game Saturday at 7 p.m.

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Graduate student Grace Schnorr (Camillus/Little Caesar’s) and freshman Mia Hlasnick (Olean/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) each netted a pair of goals to lead the Cortland women’s ice hockey team to a 5-1 victory in NEWHL action Friday night at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the league, while the Bears fell to 1-3-1 and 0-2-1.
Freshman Meggan Cramer (Cicero/Northwood School) also added a goal for Cortland, the first oh her career. Freshman Nat O’Brien (Lockport/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) collected two assists, and six others each chipped in with one assist. Sophomore goalie Anna Hamid (Mineola/New Jersey Colonials) registered 17 saves.
Junior Kaylee Merrill (Wasilla, AK/Anchorage North Stars) scored Potsdam’s goal off assists from junior Taylor Swamp (Akwesasne/St. Lawrence Steel) and freshman Sara Barrett (Tonawanda/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles). Sophomore goalie Ellie Zurfluh (Aravada, CO/Team Colorado) made 37 saves.
Ivy Boric Records Hat Trick to Help No. 1 Plattsburgh State Women’s Ice Hockey to 8-0 Win Over SUNY Morrisville
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — Junior forward Ivy Boric (Newport Beach, Calif./Anaheim Lady Ducks) recorded her first collegiate hat trick with two assists for a career-high five points to help lead No. 1 Plattsburgh State women’s ice hockey to an 8-0 win over SUNY Morrisville in the first game of a two-game Northeast Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL) series on Friday night at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
Plattsburgh State (5-0-0, 4-0-0 NEWHL), which extended its NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey record home-winning streak to 43 games, faces Morrisville (2-3-1, 1-2-1 NEWHL) for the series finale tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
Boric led all skaters with five points. Sophomore forward Sara Krauseneck (Saginaw, Mich./Northern Cyclones) contributed one goal and three assists for four points, graduate student forward Annie Katonka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) added one goal and two assists for three points, first-year forward Mattie Norton (Glen Carbon, Ill./St. Louis Lady Blues) recorded three assists. Sophomore forward Rivers Morris (Braintree, Mass./Thayer Academy) scored her first collegiate goal, and first-year forward Haley Steffey (Sewickley, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) and sophomore forward Mae Olshansky (Wilmette, Ill./North American Hockey Academy) tallied their first collegiate assists.
