SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Junior goaltender Lilla Nease (Lake Forest, Calif./Anaheim Lady Ducks) of No. 1 Plattsburgh State women’s ice hockey has been named the Northeast Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL) Goalie of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 21, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Nease improved to 2-0-0 on the season with a 20-save shutout as Plattsburgh State defeated Morrisville State, 9-0, on Saturday, Nov. 20. The shutout was the second of the season for Nease.
The Cardinals extended their NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey record home-winning streak to 44 games.
This is the first NEWHL Goalie of the Week honor of Nease’s career.
Plattsburgh State (6-0-0, 5-0-0 Northeast Women’s Hockey League [NEWHL]) continues the 2021-22 regular season against No. 9 Endicott College as part of the Cardinal/Panther Classic at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals will then face either No. 2 Middlebury College or No. 5 Elmira College on Sunday, Nov. 28. The Cardinal/Panther Classic consolation game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, followed by the championship game at 5 p.m.
