TROY, N.Y. – The nominees for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award have been announced and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Ture Linden is one of 77 on the preliminary list. A top 10 list of finalists will be announced at a later date.
A senior captain from Great Falls, Va., Linden leads the Engineers with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 23 games. He has one power play tally and one game-winner, with 15 blocks at the defensive end of the ice. The teams leader in face-off wins with 229, he has a 48.2% success rate at the dot. This season, he posted a 12-game point streak from October 15 to November 26.
In eight ECAC Hockey games, Linden has three goals and five assists for eight points. Recording 10 shots, he is a -2 with one minor penalty for two minutes.
Linden has played in 93 career games for the Engineers, scoring 17 goals and dishing out 32 assists for 49 points. He is a former standout with the Lone Star Brahmas.
The Engineers are back in action this weekend, when they visit North Country-rivals Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Sunday (5pm) and Monday (3pm), respectively.
