National Hockey League Central Scouting released their midterm rankings for the 2022 Entry Draft to be held in Montreal July 7-8 and Marcellus, NY native Seamus Powell is listed 166th among North American skaters.
The 5’11”, 165 lb. defenseman with the U.S. National Team Development Program in Plymouth, Michigan and Boston University 2023-24 commit has a combined 15 points in 42 games this season.
His older brother, Eamon, was a fourth-round selection by Tampa Bay in the 2020 draft. He is a sophomore defenseman with Boston College.
Clarkson 2023-24 commit and current Warroad High (MN) center Daimon Gardner is slotted 101st. A big body at 6’4”, 201 lb. already, he already has scored 27 goals with 16 assists in 14 high school games this season.
And former Buffalo Sabres Derek Plante’s son, Zam, is ranked 40th. Like his father, a 5’9” small center, he has seven points in 17 games with Chicago in the USHL and is also playing part of his senior season with Hermantown High in Minnesota. He is committed to follow his father to the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2023-24.
