A Salute to Our Troops

The Buffalo Stars Junior Team will open their 2012-13 home season with their Annual Salute to the American Troops on Saturday, October 13. The faceoff against the Jersey Wildcats with an elaborate opening ceremony at 7 p.m.

In addition, the Stars will retire the jerseys and induct into the Hall of Fame former players Joey Rohm, Mike Flatley and Steve Kinney.

Along with the Junior game, the Stars will host two youth games, the Bantam Majors will play at 4:30 p.m. and the Squirt Minors will play at 5:45 p.m. in non-league games.

A fundraiser will be held in the form of a Chinese Auction and raffles to benefit the New York Air National Guard’s 107th Family Support Unit stationed at Niagara Falls Air Base and the Wounded Warriors Project.

This is a great way for families to spend an evening watching great hockey and show their support for our troops.
