PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Three members of the Plattsburgh State women’s hockey team received AHCA All-American honors Thursday night at the NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Championship Banquet held in the Angell College Center’s Warren Ballrooms on the campus of Plattsburgh State.
Senior defenseman Alyssa Parke was announced as a first-team All-American receiving her first All-American nod in her career. The Lynbrook, N.Y., native leads all Cardinals defenseman with seven goals, 16 assists and 23 points. She helps anchors a Cardinals defense that is fourth overall in scoring defense only surrendering 1.46 goals per game.
Senior Shannon Stewart and freshman Kayla Meneghin both got second-team AHCA All-American honors.This was the second-straight season for Stewart earning All-American accolades. Meneghin earns her first All-American laurel in her first season. Both student-athletes have complied 20 goals this season as Menghin leads the Cardinals with a team-high 46 points and Stewart sits second with 44. The duo helps leads a Plattsburgh State offense that is tops in the country at 5.00 goals per contest.
