ALBANY, NY — The Albany Devils have signed forward Brian Gibbons to a one-year American Hockey League contract. The announcement was made by Albany Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.

Gibbons, 28, is a veteran of more than 300 professional games: 257 outings in the AHL and 66 in the NHL. His career totals include 124 points, including 39 goals and 85 assists in the AHL and 22 points, backed by five goals and 17 helpers in the NHL. Gibbons began his professional career with a three-year stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. He logged 168 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and had 90 points (30g-60a). Additionally, he played 41 games – all during the 2013-14 season – with Pittsburgh and registered 17 points (5g-12a). He signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets organization in 2014-15 and split time between Springfield (26 games) and Columbus (25 games). In 2015-16, Gibbons spent the entire campaign with Hartford and had 23 points (6g-17a) in 63 outings.

Prior to turning pro, Gibbons spent four seasons with Boston College (HE), posting 164 points with 56 goals and 108 assists in 160 games. He was named an alternate captain his senior year and helped lead the Eagles to the 2008 and 2010 NCAA National Championships.

The 5’8” 175-lb., left-shooting forward was born February 26, 1988 in Braintree, MA.
