(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Giorgio Estephan to an Amateur Tryout (ATO). In addition, defenseman Brendan Guhle has been reassigned to the Amerks from the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League by the Buffalo Sabres.
Estephan, 19, recorded a career-high 74 points (30+44) and 12 penalty minutes in 59 WHL games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes this season to rank third on his team in scoring. He also added four points (2+2) in five playoff games. In 190 career WHL games with Lethbridge, the 6-foot-0, 189-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, has registered 150 points (66+84) and 48 penalty minutes. Estephan was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round (152nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Guhle, 18, appeared in 63 WHL games with the Prince Albert Raiders this season and registered 28 points on a career-high 10 goals and 18 assists, along with 53 penalty minutes. In five postseason contests, he added three assists. The 6-foot-2, 189-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, has appeared in 186 career WHL games with Prince Albert, recording 70 points (15+55) and 118 penalty minutes. Guhle was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round (51st overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
