(Rochester, NY)… The Rochester Americans today unveiled a commemorative logo in honor of the team’s 60th anniversary season, which begins with the team’s 2015-16 Home Opener on Friday, Oct. 9 at The Blue Cross Arena.

Established in 1956, the Amerks are currently the second-oldest team in the American Hockey League and have a rich history that includes six Calder Cup championships. The 60th anniversary logo (see attached) prominently features the club’s traditional red, white and blue color scheme, as well as a star, which has been a staple on the Amerks’ sweaters throughout the team’s existence. Decals with the 60th anniversary logo will be worn on the Amerks players’ helmets throughout the season.

“The Rochester Americans have established a proud history in Rochester thanks to countless players, coaches, staff, and, most importantly, fans,” said Amerks VP of Business Operations Rob Kopacz. “The 60th anniversary season will be a time to celebrate the history of the team while continuing to build on the great tradition of Amerks hockey with our fans.”

The Amerks will celebrate the 60th Anniversary throughout the 2015-16 season in a variety of ways, including:

· Special in-game features

· 60th Anniversary merchandise

· Appearances by Amerks Alumni

· Enhanced 60th Anniversary content on Amerks.com

· Fan-selected “6 for 60” all-time starting lineup

· A special 60th anniversary celebration game

· More to be announced
