By Warren Kozireski · · Syracuse forward Colin Koepke scored 54 seconds into overtime to give the Crunch a 3-2 victory over Rochester Wednesday night.
The Amerks built a 2-0 lead as Jack Quinn scored 24 seconds into the second period with Michael Mersch setting up a screen in front and then Brendan Warren scoring his first goal since Nov. 20 moments after Peter Tischke made a diving block in the defensive zone to set up a two-on-one break.
“It’s been a long time; I just focusing on playing the right way,” Warren said. “I know it’s tough not scoring, but I know my game isn’t really meant to produce tons of numbers so if I play the right way eventually it will come and today it was nice to get that out of the way.”
But Syracuse scored twice over the final 3:01 of the second with Gabriel Dumont netting his team-leading 13th and 14th goals of the season to tie the game leading to Koepke’s game-winner.
Rochester travels to Cleveland for a pair of weekends games while Syracuse has a home-and-home with first place Utica.”
