Amerks Recall Garbowsky And Kea From Elmira

(Rochester, NY) – The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has recalled forwards Matt Garbowsky and Justin Kea from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.

Garbowsky, 25, has recorded one assist in 15 AHL games with the Amerks this year. He has also registered three points (1+2) in six ECHL games this season with Elmira. Last season, Garbowsky completed his collegiate career with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), recording a school-record 54 points (26+28) and 28 penalty minutes in 40 games. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound native of St. George, Ontario, joined the Amerks at the end of the season and recorded one assist in eight games.

Kea, 21, has appeared in 17 games with Elmira this season, recording six points (4+2) and nine penalty minutes. He has also appeared in six AHL games with the Amerks this season. In 33 career games with the Amerks, Kea has registered two goals and 71 penalty minutes. He has also recorded 18 points (9+9) and 74 penalty minutes in 52 career ECHL games with Elmira. The 6-foot-4, 206-pound native of Woodville, Ontario, was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
