(Rochester, NY) – The Buffalo Sabres announced the team has recalled forward Hudson Fasching and defenseman Casey Nelson from the Rochester Americans (AHL). In a related move, the Amerks have also recalled defenseman Paul Geiger from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
Both players join the team after being assigned to Rochester on Oct. 21. In two games for the Amerks, Fasching recorded one goal and a plus-1 rating. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native has two points (1+1) in nine career NHL games for the Sabres.
Nelson also recorded a goal on six shots on goal in two games for Rochester. In his eight career NHL games with Buffalo, Nelson has four assists and eight penalty minutes.
Geiger rejoins the Amerks from Elmira, where he scored one goal in two games with the Jackals to begin the season. The first-year blueliner netted his first pro goal in his pro debut, a 3-2 win over Norfolk on Oct. 21.
