Amerks Sign Motte And Hohmann to AHL Contracts

(Rochester, NY)… The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed goaltender C.J. Motte and forward Cason Hohmann to one-year American Hockey League contracts.
Motte, 23, completed his four-year college career last season at Ferris State University, posting a record of 18-20-2 with a 2.07 goals-against average (GAA), a .922 save percentage and five shutouts. He also made his professional debut last season, appearing in four games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, where he went 1-2-1 with a 2.49 GAA and a .917 save percentage. In 2013-14, Motte was selected as a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award after going 28-9-3 with a 2.17 GAA, a .928 save percentage and five shutouts. In 127 career games at Ferris State, the 6-foot, 190-pound native of St. Clair, Michigan, posted a record of 66-49-12 with a 2.13 GAA, a .926 save percentage and 15 shutouts.

Hohmann, 22, completed his four-year college career at Boston University last season, recording 31 points (11+20) and 34 penalty minutes in 41 games while helping lead the Terriers to the Hockey East title and an appearance in the NCAA National Championship game. In four seasons at Boston University, the 5-foot-9, 166-pound native of Arlington, Texas, registered 92 points (32+60) and 62 penalty minutes in 145 games. In 2012-13, Hohmann registered a career-high 34 points (10+24) in 39 games to rank tied for third on the team in scoring.
