WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a two-goal game against the RV/UR AIC Yellow Jackets, Anthony Firriolo has been named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week. Firriolo’s performance against AIC earned him his second weekly honor of the year and his first career player of the week award.
Firriolo has been a force on both ends of the ice for Army, as he now leads the team in goals (4) and points (5) while ranking in blocked shots (15) through seven contests. The Montville, N.J. native also scored the first power play goal of the season for the Black Knights in the first game of the series against AIC.
After another stellar weekend between the pipes, goaltender Gavin Abric earned an honorable mention for the AHA’s Goalie of the week award. Abric turned in AHA single game season high 43 saves on Thursday night and followed up with a 36-save night and his first career shutout against AIC on Friday.
The Cadets have another important game coming up this weekend against the Princeton Tigers. The ECAC foe will make the trip to Tate Rink to take on Army at 4:05 this Saturday, Oct. 30.
