WINTHROP, Mass. – Playing back in his home state of Wisconsin for the first time in his collegiate career, Noah Wilson turned in turned in two solid performances from the blue line to earn the Atlantic Hockey Association’s Defensive Player of the Week award.
The Junior blueliner brought the energy with his play in the Black Knights’ series at Wisconsin. The Fond du Lac, Wisc., native was the catalyst for the Army defense, blocking 10 shots in the two-game series. Wilson’s healthy serving of pucks also came with a side of huge hits, as he finished a few big checks to cut off some Badger advances.
Wilson’s teammates, Gavin Abric and Joey Baez earned honorable mention honors from the AHA after their strong play in the series. Abric blocked 70 of 73 Badger shots to post a .959 save percentage, while Joey Baez scored his first collegiate goal. Abric landed on the honorable mention lost for player of the week and goalie fo the week awards, while Baez found himself on the honorable mention list for rookie of the week award.
