Player of the Week
Dylan McLaughlin – Canisius
Junior, Forward – Lancaster, NY/Cedar Rapids Roughriders
McLaughlin totaled three goals and an assist in Canisius’ sweep of rival and No. 20 Niagara last weekend. He scored the first of three, third-period goals in Friday’s 4-2 win at Dwyer Arena. Then, on Saturday, he had two goals and an assist as the Golden Griffs rolled to an 8-2 victory.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tanner Jago – Bentley
Junior, Defense – Brandon, Manitoba / Portage Terriers
Jago had an all-around two games against Brown and Dartmouth with two goals, one assist and six blocked shots. He had the first goal of the game in both contests, with his strike against Brown coming on the power play. Four of his blocks came against the Bears.
Goalie of the Week
Christian Short – RIT
Junior, Goalie – Vaughn, ONT/Surrey Eagles
After seeing No. 9 Providence put up eight goals in an 8-3 win over RIT on Friday, Short got the call in net on Saturday. He stood up to the task, shutting-out the Friars for only the second time in non-conference play as RIT upset Providence, 4-0. Short made 28 saves, including 10-plus in the first and third periods, to preserve his first career shutout.
Rookie of the Week
Alden Dupuis – RIT
Freshman, Forward – Edmonton, ALB/Bonnyville Pontiacs
Dupuis scored twice, added an assist, and finished plus-3 as RIT split a pair of road games with No. 9 Providence. He had a goal in Friday’s 8-3 defeat, finishing plus-one on the night. Then on Saturday, the rookie forward scored RIT’s second goal and assisted on another less than a minute later giving RIT a 3-0 lead.
