Player of the Week
Dylan McLaughlin – Canisius
Senior, Forward – Lancaster, NY/Cedar Rapid Roughriders
McLaughlin tallied two goals and an assist in leading the Golden Griffins to a 6-3 victory over Clarkson on Saturday, Canisius’ lone game of the week. The senior forward bookended Canisius’ scoring, scoring their first goal midway through the first period, cutting Clarkson’s lead in half, then notched a power-play goal in the third period to make it a 6-3 game. For added measure, his assist came on the game-winning goal.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cameron Heath – Canisius
Senior, Defense – Troy, MI/Jersey Hitmen
Heath set career-highs in points (4) and assists (3) in Canisius’ 6-3 win against Clarkson on Saturday. He assisted on McLaughlin’s first goal, then scored a power-play goal in the first period, evening the score at two. Heath added two more assists throughout the course of the game to finish his four-point night.
Goalie of the Week
Logan Drackett – RIT
Sophomore, Goalie – Calgary, ALB/Calgary Canucks
Drackett led RIT to a sweep of AIC, stopping 53-of-56 shots faced in the two wins at the Gene Polisseni Center. On Friday, Drackett made 32 saves while allowing one goal in a 2-1 victory. Then, on Saturday, he made 21 saves as RIT rolled to a 5-2 win.
Rookie of the Week
Kieran Durgan – Air Force
Freshman, Forward – St. John’s, MI/Shreveport Mudbugs
Durgan notched two points in Air Force’s sweep of Bentley. He had an assist in Friday’s 4-2 win, then scored a goal in Saturday’s 4-1 victory. Durgan finished the weekend with a plus-4 rating and added three blocks.
