Atlantic Hockey Set to Celebrate 15th Anniversary During 2017-18 Season

Get ready for a season-long celebration Atlantic Hockey fans! 2017-18 is a special season for Atlantic Hockey and its members as it marks 15 years of existence as a NCAA Division I conference and we’re going to honor the achievements of our teams and players from 2003-04 to present day.

For the 2017-18 season, all Atlantic Hockey official releases, marketing materials, and social media outlets will display the 15th Anniversary commemorative logo (pictured to the right). Atlantic Hockey players and officials will also2231 wear the 15th Anniversary logo on their uniforms in the form of commemorative patches and helmet stickers.

The emblem utilizes the league’s classic color palette, with the conference’s logo front and center.

Atlantic Hockey has had a plethora of great players who have moved on to have great careers, both in and out of hockey, after leaving school. We are going to highlight a number of those players with a “Where are they now?” series. Profiles will be released throughout the season, including through the 2018 Atlantic Hockey Championships.

In addition, to celebrate the 15-year history of Atlantic Hockey, both a 15th Anniversary Team and the “Top 15 Moments in Atlantic Hockey” will be announced on the Atlantic Hockey website and over the league’s social media outlets. The 15th Anniversary Team will be announced prior to the start of the 2018 Atlantic Hockey Tournament in February while the “Top 15 Moments in Atlantic Hockey” will be announced periodically throughout the season.

Since its creation as a 9-team league in 2003, the AHA has established itself as one of the most competitive conferences in NCAA Division I hockey. 8 different teams have won the conference tournament, leading to a total of 6 NCAA Tournament wins and one Frozen Four appearance. With its current 11-team format, Atlantic Hockey spans a total of 5 states ranging from the Atlantic Ocean to the Rocky Mountains.

2017-18 is going to be a remarkable season in Atlantic Hockey. It will be a year in which we celebrate the past, revel in the present, and look forward to the future.
