The Australian National Hockey team will arrive in Albany, NY on Feb 4 and will have the first of their 4 games on Friday Feb 5th. The coach contacted the Troy Albany Hockey Association in mid December. Since that time lots of people have worked together to ensure that this will be a great hockey weekend.
The team of 16 players will travel approximately 10,000 miles on the flight from Sydney to NYC. The players come from all the major regions of Australia: Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane/Goldcoast. The players, ages 12 and 13, will be traveling from Feb 3 thru Feb 21. After completing the games in the capital district the team will head north to Quebec, Canada where they will play in the Quebec International Hockey Tournament.
