New York’s Jimmy Warrick had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team’s 7-2 win over Roc City.
Warrick found the back of the net on the power play 9:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New York and again while 15:30 into the third to make the score 7-2 New York.
New York’s penalty kill excelled, as New York gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.
Roc City was unable to stop New York from sending pucks towards the net, and New York eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. New York found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. New York has scored at the pace of 4.5 goals per game during the current campaign. New York could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.
New York additionally got points from Robert Kalata, who also tallied two goals and one assist, Daniel Backstrom, who also finished with one goal and five assists to lead the team in points, and Sam Shaheen, who also racked up one goal and one assist. New York also got a goal from Martin Grinberg as well. More assists for New York came via Eric Hewitt and Gunther Stange, who contributed one each.
Roc City’s offense rang up 46 shots on New York’s net. Roc City struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 54 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.
Roc City was helped by Joseph Gardner, who registered one goal and one assist. Gardner scored on the power play 13:25 into the second period to make the score 4-2 New York. Roc City had gotten the advantage when New York’s Jerome Emanuel was sent off for too many men. Jesse Orenius picked up the assist. Roc City also got points from Jared Tam-Grimshaw, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Roc City received assists from Sam Haile, who had one.
Stephen Mundinger made 44 saves for New York on 46 shots. Roc City’s Justin Nevinger stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced.
