POTSDAM, N.Y.-The SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey team will hold Autism Awareness Night this Friday during its SUNYAC contest with SUNY Geneseo.

The Bears will wear special jerseys, which can be bought after the contest. All the proceeds will go to the Autism Speaks organization.

Autism Speaks “has grown into the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.”

The Bears are currently in fourth place in the conference, battling for a home playoff game for the second year in a row. The top four teams in the SUNYAC host a playoff game. Potsdam can finish anywhere from second to sixth and has already clinched a playoff berth.

The Bears and the Ice Knights face off at 7 p.m. Friday night. Potsdam will then hold its Senior Night the following evening prior to its meeting with Brockport.
