BUFFALO â€“Buffalo Beauts head coach Rhea Coad has finalized her coaching staff for the 2021-22 NWHL season. The team announced today that Shane Madolora will join the Beauts as the team’s new goaltending coach. He is the owner and founder of the Madolora Consulting and Development hockey clinic, and is also the goaltending coach for the Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) men’s hockey team.

“In the Beauts organization we believe in giving our players the best possible experience,” said Coad. “We believe that adding Shane to our staff adds quality to our players’ overall experience. We are not only excited to have Shane’s goalie IQ, but also to have someone with his knowledge of the game.”

Madolora played three seasons as a goaltender for RIT from 2009-2012. He set program records with a 1.98 goals against average, a .932 save percentage, and 13 shutouts. Madolora went 36-14-12 during his collegiate career while appearing in 65 contests for the Tigers. His 36 career wins are third most by a RIT netminder at the NCAA Division I level.

Madolora went on to play professionally in the CHL, ECHL and SPHL in North America. He continued his professional playing overseas with stops in France, Italy and England. During his playing career, Madolora backstopped numerous championship winning teams, including the 2006-07 St. Louis Bandits (NAHL) the 2007-08 Omaha Lancers (USHL) the NCAA Division I RIT Tigers in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, Italy’s Serie A Valpellice Bulldogs in 2015, and England’s Nottingham Panthers 2016 in the EIHL.

Outside of his own playing career, the goal of Madolora’s consulting group has been to provide youth athletes, families, and organizations the opportunity to develop and learn from elite level coaches that have had playing and/or coaching experience at the highest levels of hockey. This is achieved all while providing them with the tools necessary to reach their goals and to have success throughout their own hockey journeys.

Madolora now intends to bring this same mindset and approach to the Beauts organization.

“I am extremely excited to be joining the Beauts organization to aid in goaltending development for the goaltenders next season,” said Madolora. “I have heard nothing but great things about current goaltenders Carly Jackson and Caty Flagg. I look forward to getting to know them both and helping elevate their skills to new heights as we strive for an Isobel Cup Championship next season. I want to thank Nate Oliver, Rhea Coad, Mark Zarbo, and the rest of the Beauts staff and organization for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get on the ice with the Beauts team in the fall.”
