Beauts To Play Exhibition Games Against Russia

BUFFALO, N.Y. (November 26, 2018) — The Buffalo Beauts announced the team will play a four-game exhibition series against Russia’s National Women’s Ice Hockey team. All four games will take place at various rinks in Southern Ontario and will be free and open to the public.

Of the 21 players on Team Russia’s roster, 12 played in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, including Anna Shokhina, who recorded five points (3+2) in six games. This is also not the first time this season that the Beauts will see Maria Sorokina of Team Russia. She is currently a goaltender for the NWHL’s Connecticut Whale. Sorokina will meet the Beauts shortly after this exhibition series when the Whale return to Harborcenter on Saturday, Dec. 8., for the second time this season.

The exhibition game schedule is as follows:

Thursday, Nov. 29
Ridley College Arena in St. Catharines Ontario, faceoff at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 1
Gale Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario, faceoff at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 2
Gale Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario, faceoff at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 3
Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, faceoff at 4:15 p.m.
