BUFFALO, NY — The Buffalo Beauts defeated the Boston Pride, 5-3, Saturday night in the Beauts home opener at HarborCenter.
The contest certainly had a championship flavor to it. Prior to the game the Beauts unfurled their 2016-17 Isobel Cup Championship banner.
“We said at the beginning of last season that we had some unfinished business to take care of,” commented Beauts head coach, Ric Seiling prior to the banner ceremony. “And we took care of it.”
Beaut players were also presented with championship rings during the pre-game on-ice ceremony.
Buffalo led all the way, jumping out to a 4-0 lead before Boston hit the scoreboard. Beauts rookie Taylor Accursi lead the way for Buffalo scoring two goals.
