Trailing 5-2 in the third period, Buffalo staged a dramatic comeback before stunning the Riveters for an overtime victory.

Emily Pfalzer scored a goal and netted the shootout winner, a fitting start to her All-Star Week. Kourtney Kunichika also scored a pair for Buffalo, including the game-tying tally with only minutes remaining in regulation. Brianne McLaughlin made 18 saves, only allowing one goal in relief of starter Kimberly Sass, who left midway through the second period after giving up four goals.

New York scored three power play goals and Morgan Fritz-Ward and Bray Ketchum each netted a pair. This marks the second time the Riveters have lost a game after carrying a three-goal advantage into the third period (December 13th vs. Connecticut)
