Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex has reached a very significant milestone, celebrating 20 years of business. The multi-use participatory sports facility has evolved drastically since its early years, now generating more annual economic impact and foot traffic than any other business of its kind in the Greater Rochester area.
We’re incredibly proud of the many benefits the Iceplex brings to the community, not only in the form of numerous healthy activities and events which we host, but also for the substantial economic impact that results from our 1.7 million annual visitors”, said Chris Woodworth, General Manager of the Iceplex. “We have many great things in store for the upcoming year, which is shaping up to be one of the most successful in the facilities existence.”
On April 1st of 2013, the facility officially became Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex, and since then it has seen substantial growth and improvements, including;
• Construction of a new addition, home of Nazareth Men’s & Women’s Hockey programs, Lattimore Physical Therapy, and Iceplex Fitness
• The addition of many new tenants, including Parisi Rochester, NewEdge Hockey Development Company, Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney’s U19 and U16 girls hockey programs, Nazareth Men’s & Women’s Hockey programs, and Legacy Global Sports Event Management
• Numerous improvements to the facility, including the installation of a LED lighting system in all four ice rinks, upper lobby seating area which is complete with a fireplace and live streaming televisions of all four rinks, and major remodeling of all lobby spaces throughout the 186,000 square foot facility
• The launch of many new internally managed programs, events, and leagues, which provide thousands of locals an opportunity to stay active
• The addition of many event partners, which host over 20 events annually, bringing hundreds of thousands of out-of-town guests to Rochester
