St. Lawrence University first-year forward Rachel Bjorgan was named the ECAC Hockey Adirondack Health Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon.
Bjorgan led the Saints with three points in three games last week. She assisted on the Saints’ first goal of the year in the first minute of St. Lawrence’s season opener at Clarkson on Wednesday, then scored her first career goal and added an assist in the Saints’ 3-2 overtime loss to fifth-ranked Colgate on Friday.
“Rachel played a key role in our goals last week,” said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells ’92. “Her effort and speed have allowed her to jump right into the college game with success.”
The Saints will play a non-league game against RIT at 4 p.m. on Tuesdat at Appleton Arena, then go on the road for a pair of ECAC Hockey games at Quinnipiac this weekend.
