The Scotty Bowman Showcase returned to Key Bank Center after being cancelled for the past two years due to Covid.
Taking to the ice in the first game vying for the Tim Horton Memorial Cup were the Buffalo Juniors vs the Rochester Juniors.
It was a shut-out for Buffalo with Eddie Kwarciak of Grand Island High School and August Trifilo of Sweet Home/Depew each scoring two goals for the Buffalo squad. Sharing goaltending duties were Rich Gareau of Starpoint; Christian Schwarts, Nichols and Ben Shoemaker, Clarence.
