New York, NY— The National Women’s Hockey League (www.nwhl.co) today announced that Buffalo Beauts defenseman Megan Bozek has been named Player of the Week.

Bozek scored the game-winner in Buffalo’s 4-3 overtime victory over Boston, marking the Beauts first victory over the Pride in five tries this season. She is the first blue liner to receive Player of the Week honors.

The NWHL is the first professional women’s hockey league in North America to pay its players. The inaugural season begins October 11, 2015 and playoffs conclude in March 2016 when the first NWHL championship team raises the Isobel Cup.
