SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Crunch released defenseman Mathieu Brodeur from his professional tryout agreement. Brodeur rejoined the Adirondack Thunder in advance of last night’s game against Worcester.
Brodeur, 27, appeared in four games with the Crunch after he signed a PTO with the team on December 1. The AHL stint was his second of the season after he previously collected an assist from seven games with the Springfield Thunderbirds in October. The 6-6 defenseman has amassed 49 points (13-36-49) in 85 games with Thunder, which includes 12 games played this season. From AHL stints with San Antonio, Portland, Chicago, Albany, Syracuse and Springfield throughout his AHL career, Brodeur has collected 66 points (15-52-67) in the AHL to go along with 238 penalty minutes and a +2 rating.
