Buffalo Junior Sabres Defeat Mississauga

AMHERST –  Buffalo Junior Sabres defeat Mississauga in their first game of a best of seven series by a score of 4-1.  Buffalo started off the scoring with a goal from captain Ryan Schmelzer assisted by Josh Gabriel and Dennis Gilbert.  Mississauga tied the game but not long after until Nick DeSimone took the lead back with a power play goal.
The third period was a tough battle, but Michael Ederer scored to put Buffalo up 3-1.  Buffalo handled a lot of pressure as Mississauga pulled their goalie and Max Mikowski added an empty net goal to seal the deal.  Buffalo Goalie Joseph Pianta had 21 saves on 22 shots.
Buffalo’s next home game is Sunday March 2, 2014 at the First Niagara Center.  The puck drops at 7:00 Pm.
