The Buffalo Sabres Foundation and Perry’s Ice Cream, in partnership with World Vision, hosted an event that will provide school supplies to 4,000 disadvantaged children in the City of Buffalo. Over 250 volunteers helped to pack school supplies–notebooks, pens, pencils, calculators, dictionaries–into backpacks that will be distributed throughout the City of Buffalo schools for disadvantaged children. The event was part of the United Way’s Day of Caring held the third Wednesday each August.
“We think giving students the supplies they need to succeed in school next year is going to go a long way in improving our community and we were overwhelmed by the support of the volunteers,” said Rich Jureller, director of community relations for the Sabres.
All the supplies were donated by the Sabres Foundation and Perry’s.
