The Buffalo Stars Hockey Organization is pleased to introduce our Full Season Midget U18 Tournament Bound team for the 2013-2014 season.

 

This team will be made up of 18 skaters and 2 goaltenders who are looking for a competitive full season Midget Option.  The team will participate in a competitive schedule of 55-60 games including Showcase events, league play and home and home series.

 

A month long Training Camp begins in early August and concludes with the Buffalo Stars Annual Labor Day Tournament. The team begin the regular season with a fullWNYAHL regular season tournament bound schedule as well as participate in the 5 major Showcase Events of the National Junior Prospects Hockey League.

 

In addition, the team will participate in 3 or 4 other tournament events including theAnnual New Hampshire Monarchs Columbus Weekend Junior Showcase.

The National Junior Prospects Hockey League Showcase Events are generally the 3rd weekend in September in Michigan; the 3rd weekend in October in Minnesota; the 3rd weekend in November in Rochester; MLK Weekend in Boston and Presidents weekend in Pittsburgh.

 

The National Junior Prospects Hockey League is a showcase hockey league which was created and designed by coaches in order to develop and promote hockey players who are committed to enhancing their skills in preparation for the next level of hockey.  The NJPHL will showcase these players on their member teams at five showcase events across the United States in front of all levels of Prep School, Junior A, and NCAA Collegiate hockey programs.  The League will make every attempt to accommodate and assist the member programs and players in promoting their efforts to communicate with these entities.

 

Once the season begins, the team will undergo a regimen of intense practice, weight room and video review. The team will work closely with the Buffalo Stars Empire Junior Program and, along with their U16 full season team, serve as a feeder for the Junior team.

 

The team will be coached by 5 year Buffalo Stars Junior Assistant Coach Mike Flatley and second year Junior Assistant Coach Brian Becker. Both Flatley and Becker are alumni of the Buffalo Stars Junior Program. Flatley will  serve as the Head Coach while Becker will be his Associate. A third member of the staff has yet to be named.

 

Tryouts will be held on April 8th and 9th with times yet to be announced.
