BUFFALO, N.Y.— Joseph Molinaro scored his first three goals of the season to lead No. 3/5 Oswego to a 4-1 SUNYAC victory over host Buffalo State tonight at the Ice Arena.

THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: #3/5 Oswego – 4, Buffalo State – 1
LOCATION: Ice Arena – Buffalo, N.Y.
RECORDS: Oswego (4-1/2-1), Buffalo State (3-3-1/1-2-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a tight-checking start to the first period, Oswego finally broke through with a power-play marker with less than five minutes remaining in the first period.
The Lakers capitalized on a Bengal miscue just 47 seconds later to make it 2-0 when goalie Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) went to the corner to play the puck and sent it directly onto the stick of Oswego’s Josh Zizek who slid it into the empty net.
Colin O’Connor (Kankakee, IL/Providence Catholic) ripped a point shot home off a faceoff win by Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) in the opening minutes of the second period to cut the deficit in half.
Oswego reclaimed the two-goal lead later in the frame, however, connecting for its second power-play goal of the game.
The Lakers completed the scoring with an empty-net tally late in the third period.
Minch finished with 21 saves in the loss.
Oswego was 2 for 3 on the power play, and Buffalo State was 0 for 4.

Molinaro scored three goals and Zizek scored once.
Cedric Hansen made 19 saves in the win.
