Men’s Hockey jumps to 13th in D3Hockey.com national poll
Buffalo State moved up one place in the D3Hockey.com national poll to 13th, while holding steady in the USCHO.com poll in 14th following two more victories this past weekend.
The Bengals swept Fredonia this past weekend to improve to 15-4-2 overall and 8-2-2 in SUNYAC play. Buffalo State boasts the No. 9 scoring offense in the nation, averaging 4.05 goals-per-game with junior Mac Wood (Simcoe, ON/SCS) leading the team with 13. Sophomore Anthony Passero (Fort Erie, ON/Lakeshore) leads the Bengals with 25 points on five goals and 20 assists, and sophomore defenseman Michael Anthony Guerrera (Montreal, QC/OHA) is second on the team with 23 points (nine goals and 14 assists).
Buffalo State is also 12th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 2.05 goals-per-game. Senior goalie Ian Sylves (Sloan, NY/JFK) leads the SUNYAC with a .933 save percentage and is second with a 1.77 goal against average. Senior captain Brody Power (Halifax, NS/Upper Canada College) leads Buffalo State on the blue line with a team-best plus-14 rating.
The Bengals will close out their home regular season schedule this weekend, hosting No. 4 Oswego on Friday and Cortland on Saturday. Both games start at 7 p.m.
